Andrea Bocelli

BIO

With one of the most unique, distinctive voices on the planet Italian born Andrea Bocelli has ambled effortlessly in the realms of both classical and popular music. Along the way he has rewritten music history by amassing worldwide sales of more than 60 million albums, topping charts internationally with his critically acclaimed albums and singles, and earning an impressive array of prestigious awards, including a Golden Globe for Best Song, plus Grammy and Academy Award nominations.

In 1996 and 1997 Andrea Bocelli exploded on album charts across the world, with his international debut album ‘Romanza'. In March 1999 Andrea released his second pop offering ‘Sogno' which included "The Prayer" and entered the upper reaches of the album charts around the world. Later in this watershed year in an already impressive career, Andrea released ‘Sacred Arias' which went on to become his most successful classical album to date. It has also become the biggest selling album by a classical soloist of all time.

Now, with ‘Vivere' a spectacular ‘Best Of' collection that combines some of his most popular songs as well as four exciting new tracks there is once again cause to celebrate his extraordinary talents. As his zest and passion for life has shown, Andrea Bocelli is not a man to avoid a challenge "What I crave most, what I hope to achieve", he says, "is to communicate with the listener; to touch them in the same way that I was touched as a child by my favourite singers, who made me cry and made me dream".
